The Fly Right Dance Company is Scotland’s only professional dance company specialising in traditional Afro-American dance styles such as Ragtime, Charleston, Lindy Hop, Jitterbug and Jive. We live to perform these, and other dance styles, and have brought dance to many well-established Jazz festivals, such as the Edinburgh, Glasgow, Wigan, and Sacramento international events. We’re also in demand for corporate events, particularly themed evenings, and are regular performers at major airshows all over Scotland. Our fun and flexible approach is also much sought-after to present fun dance classes as part of our performances.

FILM APPEARANCES. Gary and Susan from Fly Right were dance consultants for the new Scottish film, Stone of Destiny, which had its world premiere at the recent Edinburgh Film Festival and has been out in cinemas since early October 2008. They also make a well-featured dance appearance in the film, and helped Kate Mara and Charlie Cox (who star alongside Robert Carlyle) with their dance sequence. The pair can also be seen dancing in DNA Stories, a soon-to-be broadcast HD genealogy programme hosted by Lorraine Kelly. Watch out on 17th November on Sky Real Lives to catch a dramatic reconstruction of a 1940s dancehall, with S&G prominently featured (also prominently featured in the programme trailers!)

We can bring a swing to any corporate or private function, and can present cabarets at themed events (1920s Charleston, 1930s gangster, World War II, Fifties Rock and Roll, Vegas, Black and White ball to name but a few!).
We have a particular specialism in World War II and 1940s themes, with authentic military and civilian costume. We have extensive experience in performing cabarets and presenting fun dance classes at many events - see our past client and event list by clicking on the tab above for more details.
