Swing
You’ve seen it on Strictly Dance Fever, now come and try it for yourselves! That cool and classic dance style – the forerunner to today’s modern jazz dance - that originated in Harlem in the 1920s with the Charleston and which grew up to become Lindy Hop, Jitterbug and Jive in later years.  In this course, we’ll tackle some of the famous “breakaway” dances of the period like the Shim Sham, as well as some modern ones like the Charleston Stroll and the Tranky Doo! We’ll lead onto partner-based swing patterns as well – plenty of time in our ninety-minute sessions! All accompanied by wonderful music from people like Benny Goodman, Gene Krupa, Glenn Miller – or our favourite cats called Louis - Armstrong, Jordan and Prima!

Experience Level:  Suitable  for beginners
Partner:  Not essential, but useful!  Expect  to widen your dance experience by working with different partners.
